Abstract

Gravity databases are being updated to match the precisions now routinely achiev- able in the calculation of gravity anomalies. To attain this objective, the diverse corrections involved in the determination of an anomaly must ensure accuracies consistent with each other and with the gravity survey. Another important aspect is the kind of height used in these corrections, which is shown by the widespread use of satellite positioning as a technique to establish the location and heights of gravity stations. This paper examines the suitability and impact of using the new recom- mended standards taking as a case study a local network of gravity located in San Juan (Argentina). The new values of anomalies can be used both geodetic and geo- physical applications.
