La fe cristiana como fuerza de liberación histórica en el Salvador
Main Article Content
Abstract
This document analyzes succinctly the gradual transformation of the historical role of the Catholic Church in El Salvador social struggles, from the arrival of Mons. Luis Chávez (1938-1977) as Archbishop. The creation of structures and ecclesial movements were a part of the socio-historical processes in El Salvador in the 70’s and the 80’s of the XX century. The incorporation of a large number of Christian Catholics as social and historic individuals and promoters of political and economic change were animated by an unprecedented Pastoral platform of the Catholic Church. Christians responded in a revolutionary way to the unfair reality with a deep faith in a God, who accompanied them in the construction and defense of their own history, their own liberation, in cooperation with non-Christians and non- believers.
