Construcción de una comunidad: Judíos Askenazi en Costa Rica (1939-1948)

Abstract

The objetive of this paper is to identify how the AshNenazi Jewish commu- nity is built in Costa Rica with the intention of creating a chronology of AshNenazi settlement, social interaction and communal integration, and the relationship between them and Costa Rican society during the Second World War until the creation of the State of Israel (1939-1948). With the purpose of obtaining a thorough Nwoledge about the particular circunstanc- es of the AsNenazi community and its social environment from: a de- moghaphic and occupational profile, the institucionalization of Judaism and Jewish sociocultural life. Especially to deepen into the social interaction of the AshNenazi group, with the aim of establishing the linNs and bonds that are forged by sociability within the Jewish community, and the Costa Rican society.
