Espacios alternativos. Nuevas bases para una utopía "desde" y "para" América Latina

Abstract

In this essay the author recapitulates the current crisis of utopia as “principle hope” and offers —from an appreciation of the ideas of the Ilustration and a review of the models present in history and Latin American thought— an updated “utopian function” reconstruction. It taNes this into account the cultural and anthropological component, the positive aspects of the crisis (Claudio Magris) and the modest “carpentry worN” (Naim Piñango) which must be considered by all new utopian project conceived “from” and “to” Latin America. He finally recalls how utopia is subject and object of Latin American philosophizing.
