Abstract

The writing that I present outlines the first lines of a broader program that I began to develop in 2008 that investigated the categories of person among the Nahuas on the coast of Michoacán. The research presented here represents the beginning of these inquiries in which I try to show how the notions of musician and enchanted constitute concrete expressions of a system of classification and identification that defines relationships and practices among the Nahua communities. But, besides, he points out that it is these two categories, which belong to a broader set, that allow, or at least encourage, constant adaptations and transformations in the notions of person and human.
