Human dental decoration was a common cultural practice in ancient Mesoamerican populations; it was used to reinforce symbolic and social aspects, which had to be manifested in the individual. In this work, the morphological analysis of the types of dental decoration identified in the archaeological site of El Zapotal, Veracruz, is carried out, with the purpose of presenting a general panorama of said practice in archaeological sites of Veracruz. The description of the types of dental decoration will allow us to understand if there are cultural relationships and inter and intra regional social dynamics in Veracruz.
