Abstract

The objective of this work is to propose an economic model applied to subsistence goods in an area of wide ecological diversity. We apply the concept of microenvironment trying to understand how social groups use different mechanisms, such as mobility or seasonality, to access diverse natural resources. For the case of study, we appeal to archaeological, historical and ethnographic studies on the region of swamps of Centla, Tabasco, inhabited by Mayan-Chontal.
