The participation of the Chalcas in the conquest of Mexico Tenochtitlan, allies or rebels?
Main Article Content
Abstract
The article analyzes the role of the Chalca peoples during the Spanish conquest. It focuses its attention on the changes that occurred during the second half of the fifteenth century because of the conquest of the territory by the members of the Triple Alliance. The defeat resulted in an internal crisis that altered the relations between the different lineages. This allows us to understand the conflicts of interest between the different sectors of society and their participation in the armed conflict on the side of one side or the other.
