Main Article Content
Abstract
This article seeks to include the category of extractivism within the critical studies of tourism, for which we situate the discussion in the case of Peña de Bernal, in Querétaro, from a comparative analysis of the situation of tourism in the two towns that guard it: San Sebastián de Bernal and San Antonio de la Cal. Based on the dimensions proposed by Gudynas (2015) volume, intensity, processing and export of resources, an analysis of the effects of tourism in both localities is carried out in order to raise a relevant alert before a phenomenon that although the literature has been able to analyze it critically, it has been cautious in not raising a complaint that warns about the devastation of the place, culture and nature; reasons why visitors arrive in first instance and that could be affected to a point of no return.
Key words. Tourism, Extractivism, Heritage, Patriarchy, Capitalism.
