Abstract
The doctoral thesis, Indigenous Peoples, Tourism and Territory: a look at the Tremembé and Jenipapo-Kanindé of Ceará, is a comparative work that addresses the theme of Indigenous peoples and tourism in the Northeast of Brazil from the perspective of two case studies: the Tremembé who live in the Tremembé Indigenous Land of Barra do Mundaú, Municipality of Itapipoca, on the west coast of Ceará and the Jenipapo- Kanindé of the Aldeia Lagoa Encantada Indigenous Land, Municipality of Aquiraz, on the east coast of this state. The work is innovative because it addresses indigenous peoples and tourism from the perspective of Human Geography and Social Anthropology and because it is based on a field work carried out over five years.
