Narratives about water crises in São Paulo and Mexico City
Main Article Content
Abstract
The shortage of drinking water, the poor sewage and sanitation mechanisms have a strong impact on the daily lives of thousands of citizens throughout Latin America. The situation becomes more complex for those who live in the peripheries of cities, social spaces where the poor quality of public services (water, sewage, sanitation, electrical energy, paving) is the most obvious expression of socio-territorial segregation. In this the implications of the recurring periods of water crisis on the habits, routines and perceptions among citizens living in peripheral regions of SЛo Paulo and Mexico City are exposed.
