Abstract

The power-deficit conditions in which Mexican workers from the SAWP in Canada find themselves make them particularly vulnerable in times of pandemic. This is what the author tries to demonstrate, based on the scientific literature and the conventional and alternative press, which describe the sometimes deplorable conditions in which these workers live and work. The concept of systemic racism and the perspective of coloniality form the backbone of this article. The author argues that only by having access to permanent residence could workers to some extent reduce their vulnerability.
