State of the measurement of the geographical indicators of the Sustainable Development Goals in Uruguay

Abstract
The research object of this article is part of a research course offered for the university careers of Surveyor Engineer and Cartography Technologist at the University of the Republic, Uruguay. The objective of the research was to explore the measurement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in Uruguay. In particular, we propose to analyze the indicators with a geographic component.
To comply with the proposal, It has been necessary to understand and analyze in detail those indicators with a spatial component and their international methodologic guides proposed by United Nations. In addition, a national approach about SDGs is done, identifying the responsible and linked institutions to make a comparative analysis between the proposal of the guides and the methodology that is used by our country. Particularly, It did the measure of some geographic indicators to of a country region.
This pedagogic proposal has allowed visualizing the position of Uruguay in front of the measure of these indicators by the obtained results and also, by the debates and opinion exchange between students and teacher in charge, based on the literature revision, critic analysis, implementation of procedures and learned lessons all along the course.
