Abstract

Human bioclimatology helps to know the perception of meteorological variables in
the human organism through the application of indexes. In this paper, two indices
have been applied for the Guadalajara metropolitan area: Effective Temperature (ET)
of Seifert (1958), and Missenard (1937). The purpose of this research is to
characterize the human bioclimatic regime in the presence of two daily situations that
is the effect caused by the effect of wind on the ET, both in the interior and exterior
environment and to be able to relate it to the scale of thermal sensation proposed by
the ASHRAE (American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air-Conditioning
Engineers). The meteorological data were provided by the SIMAJ (System of
Atmospheric Monitoring of Jalisco State) from which the variables of air
temperature, relative humidity and wind speed were taken. The comfort range was
from 19.7 to 22.9 °C, and the sensations found were cool, cool, light fresh,
comfortable and light warm, shown in diagrams and bioclimatic maps. Additionally,
the linear regression equations (predictive models) in which ET can be known and
the corresponding thermal sensation of the interior or exterior environment.
