El Atlas del Cambio Climático de las Américas
Main Article Content
Abstract
Researchers affiliated with the Pan American Institute of Geography and History (PAIGH) are working on a Climate Change Atlas of the Americas (ACCA). This article details the debates and decisions of an interdisciplinary workshop with participants from 5 countries focused on the development of the atlas. The August 2017 PAIGH funded workshop in Colombia identified objectives, theoretical framework, methodology, territorial reach, units of analysis, selected themes, technical framework, and a work plan. The target audience includes a broad public with a particular focus on young people and policy makers and the overarching objective of creating a stronger understanding of the problems, challenges, and
opportunities associated with climate change. The article also seeks to raise awareness of the complex steps needed to plan a project of this size.
