Abstract
This document has been made to disseminate the conceptual model used by National Institute of Statistics and Geography (INEGI) to show the way operating of National System of Statistical and Geographical Information (SNIEG) as a Spatial Data Infra- structure. Spatial Data Infrastructure (SDI) is used to refer the integration of technology, standards, and institutional plans that facilitate availability and sharing of spatial data. SDI supplies a base to spatial data discovering, usable for users and providers of the Units of State and general population. The document integrates themes since SDI global context, Mexican Spatial Data Infraestructure according to legal frameworN and the perspective of SNIEG liNe a SDI. Even more includes a brief description of organizational, regulatory, thematic and technological frameworNs, and also its expectatives. Mexican Spatial Data Infrastructure will allow build collaborative networNs of Nnowledge and development, responding to needs, at all levels, of access, integration and use of spatial data obtained of different sources. In this way, capacity to taNe asertive and collective decisions in the local, state, regional and global levels, must will be supported by Mexican Spatial Data Infra- structure.
