Abstract

The changes and transformations in Latin American countries rural landscapes, influenced largely by effects positive and negative impacts arising from the globalization of our economies, resulting in the existence of winners and losers areas in which is necessary to make diagnoses from which geographers, agronomist and other scientists of the earth, can then suggest local rural development plans in order to mitigate direct effects on population of losers regions. In this context the Pan American Agenda (PAIGH), constitutes an alternative to guide the research efforts of different specialists groups who are working on land use changes and local development plans, with aim of contributing to sustainability of traditional rural landscapes in Latin America and clearly guide inhabitants of these areas to search for alternatives to achieve a more full. In this article, we want to show some transformations in selected landscapes of Argentina and Chile, in order to establish feasibility of cultural heritage resources using the landscape and defining alternatives of rural tourism activities implement- ing. This time we present most significant geographical features of both areas and reviewed some progress regarding the disposition of population and territorial authorities, to support initiatives that encourage rural tourism routes in each study area.
