Abstract

It is presented a morphotectonic interpretation of the Lorca earthquake, SW of Spain (may 11, 2011, Mw 5.2). The authors sustain an alternative interpretation on base of their research results. It was made before the earthquake occurrence. The earthquake is produced in a regional compressive field with some transversal seis- mic active structures where exist a blocks’ interaction, faults and seismic knots.
