Abstract
Using Landsat, QuickBird and Spot satellite images, and aerial photographs, we examined the Sayhuacocha, Raurac, Ampatococha and Tutayoc lagoons historical behavior, which are located in the department of Huancavelica, Peru. The analysis period covers the years between 1962 and 2011, being the photointerpretation and remote sensing, the tools used for it. The observed trend indicates the predominance of reducing water mirror in 2 of the 4 lagoons studied. This decrease is consistent with observed dry periods throughout the Mantaro basin.
