Mariano Zamorano Diez (1920-2010), la herencia de un geógrafo singular

Abstract

This article is an evocative summary, to pay tribute to Dr. Mariano Zamorano Diez, for his cartographic work for more than 60 years. The Province of Mendoza, in the Argentine Republic, has been the permanent residence location he chose in order to launch his reflection and thinking to the whole world. This unique Argentine geo- grapher stood out due to his activities related to teaching, academic management, envolvement in dedicated congresses and societies, scientific dissemination by means of conferences and publications. 

This genuine scholar trainer, who followed the old Strabo science, died last year, and he left us a very rich cultural heritage which is made up by his disciples following his route and by the huge quantity of written pages, together with his scientific ideas.
