Abstract

The article presents a vision of the relevance of geography as an educational science of landscape, from the perspective of the relationship between citizens and regional geographic spaces. In the first place, the link between the didactics of geography and landscape is contextualized, taking as a reference the importance of the latter in the meaningful learning of the discipline. Secondly, an analysis of the relevance of the landscape as an integrated system and its teaching in the formation of geographically informed and occupied citizens of their environment is presented. The document intends, therefore, to have a diffusion action to underline the importance of geographic education in the formation of a competent society in geographic knowledge, that is, with a clear vision of the territory it inhabits, reflective of its rights and aware of its importance in protecting its environment.
