Ordenación territorial y turismo en Latinoamérica: el caso peruano
Main Article Content
Abstract
The goals and standards of regional land planning, in its advanced stages of devel- opment in Europe, are being applied in Latin America in multiple ways in order to correct regional imbalances and better land use. Peru, like many other countries in the region, has unique characteristics that compel regional planning to be creatively applied given the limitations and needs. Moreover, while in many southern Europe- an countries tourism is now one of the dominant activities, in Latin America the situation is very different. Nonetheless, given the similarities between the objectives of land planning and the requirements of sustainable tourism, it is possible to say that tourism can play a major role in reinforcing territorial equilibrium; implement- ing processes and regional planning that rely on innovative ways of developing tourism.
